Join me for a hands-on exploration of sustainable floristry, using seasonal flowers and foliage gathered from the cutting field to create a beautiful, naturalistic Broken Moon Gate.

We’ll begin by spending time in the cutting field, learning how to harvest thoughtfully and sustainably, select material at the right stage, and condition your flowers so they perform at their best. We’ll then bring our gathered material into the workshop and explore how to design with what is naturally available — embracing movement, asymmetry and the character of each stem rather than relying on imported or heavily processed flowers.

Working on a partial moon gate rather than covering the whole structure, I’ll demonstrate three different floristry techniques: a statement floral spray and two asymmetrical meadow-style sections. We’ll look at how to create structure, rhythm, depth and a sense of wild, abundant growth…
